We currently run three residential adult camps each year. They have been extremely popular in the past with many returning customers.
RESIDENTIAL CAMPS 2017
May 5th/6th/7th 2017
More dates to follow...
This year we have made a slight change to the schedule, but the format remains the same. Please see the Forthcoming Events page for full details of the this May's camp programme.
With international riders and instructors, we offer an opportunity for a weekend of intensive training. Our facilities allow you to pursue a wide variety of disciplines - flat work, show jumping, and, of course, instruction on the cross country area and hunter trial course. Additionally you can take advantage of 5km of hacking around the farm's grassy field margins. Down Farm is a working chalk-land arable farm, and is home to a wide variety of plant and animal life. This and the rolling landscape make for interesting and enjoyable hacking, all without having to ride on the road.
Although the standard of teaching is very high, we welcome riders of all abilities. All your meals are provided, including tea and cake at the end of the day's riding. Sadly we are unable to provide alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own supply. The atmosphere is very friendly, and the focus is on having a fun weekend with your horse and like-minded people.
Accomodation is provided in our 8 comfortable mobile homes, which are located in a leafy corner of the farmyard.
Your horse will be stabled in one of our 3m x 3m, Cheval Liberte, temporary stables. There will also be stables allocated to storage for hay and feed. We provide shavings for bedding, which is included in the price. You will, however, need to bring your own hay and feed.
There is ample parking for trailers and lorries, and the dining room, accomodation and stables are all conveniently close to each other. We also provide a secure tack room in the farmyard.
The camp takes place from Friday afternoon until Sunday lunchtime, with an option hack on Sunday afternoon.
The cost is £225 per person (includes all instruction, stabling, accomodation, catering and use of showjumps and cross country facilities).
Owing to the popularity of these adult residential camps we are frequently oversubscribed - should you miss out on one of the 24 spaces we can add your name to to our waiting list and if anyone drops out we will contact you.
